Redefining Wellness

Today’s retirees tend to take a more progressive approach to their health. At Montgomery Place, residents often select and design our programs. They create the lifestyle and define the community.

This is a community that stays in touch with those changing ideas, recognizing that health and wellness is at the forefront of retirement lifestyle planning. That’s why we’ve adopted a philosophy of person-centered wellness that takes into account each person’s physical, intellectual and spiritual health.

Perhaps the most exciting addition to Montgomery Place’s wellness program is the new Dr. Theodore N. and Marjorie Pullman Wellness Center. Named in honor of two of Hyde Park’s most revered personages, the wellness center offers a variety of activities, including water and low-impact cardiovascular aerobics, and balance enhancement. There’s also a fitness room with state-of-the-art equipment, a spa and massage room, and an indoor pool that can be activated for lap swimming. Next door is our new café/library, a bright and inviting space where neighbors and friends can meet up to share the news of the day over a cup of fresh-brewed coffee, grab a light snack after a workout or bowl on our new Wii gaming system.

As a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), Montgomery Place provides residential apartments for fully independent living; our Catered Living Program for those who can benefit from additional day-to-day support; and a Medicare certified health care program, which is overseen by Board-certified geriatricians physicians from the nearby University of Chicago Medical Center.
