Montgomery Place savors expressions of gratitude during this time of COVID-19

As we now are in our sixth “no visitor” day and fourth day of social isolation since  closing the dining room and cancelling activities, I imagine that residents are feeling the constraints of their apartments. Some sunshine would really help!

But I must say that everyone is taking these necessary precautions in stride. We continue to work through the hiccups along the way. The most recent was inaccurate information provided by USPS regarding the mail delivery issue. NO WORRIES – mail will be delivered tomorrow and going forward.

I’m happy to report we still are COVID-19 free at Montgomery Place. We continue   to do all we can to prevent the spread of this virus!

Today, we alerted residents about being careful because scammers are on the prowl! Nothing like taking advantage of seniors in a time of crisis. When you’re talking with your family members, please share ways to avoid scams. And, please help them monitor bank accounts and credit cards.

Every day we broadcast in-house updates at 9:00am, 12:00noon and 5:00pm, and print the same information delivered to residents’ mailboxes. Encourage your loved one to watch Channel 4 at these times and to get their mail. Many boxes are getting too full. They are welcome to come down and get mail.

A group of residents today hand wrote 100 “Thank You” cards for us to distribute to staff. These sentiments uplifted each staff member’s spirits. Our team members give their hearts and souls each day as they love and care for residents. All of us  appreciate the kind words shared. Now, I am putting together a “Wall of Thanks”  for sharing the many messages received from family members. Keep supporting us, please. Your kind words make us feel connected.

Continue to reach out with any concerns. We’ll help in any way we can. The best way to reach me is to call my mobile phone number, 773-617-1317, at any time.   I’ll do my best to return your call in a timely manner.

Residents and their families give us strength.  Thank you.
