Montgomery Place traditions take new form during this time of COVID-19
Good Evening to all!
Today was the fourth day of urging residents to remain isolated in their apartments under the “Stay At Home” executive order of Governor Pritzker. It is human nature to become restless. But I’m glad to say that most residents are accepting this process and taking it in stride.
Each time we see someone in the Lobby, we inquire to their needs, help fulfill them and ask them to return to their apartment. We hope each of you support us and reinforce this practice.
We know that restricting interactions will defeat the spread of this virus. We also know it is difficult on everyone because we are social beings. We are creating fresh ways to remain engaged and active. So we’re starting with a favorite way: Our Tuesday afternoon wine and cheese gatherings. So on this Tuesday, we inaugurate bringing wine and cheese to each apartment so everyone can still enjoy this beloved weekly social event.
We’re also encouraging residents to connect with each other and with friends via technology. Starting at 3:30pm on Tuesday, March 24, ask your family members to use FaceTime or other apps to connect and converse during our virtual get-togethers for wine and cheese. They just might prove to be our favorite lifeline!
Let’s pray that tomorrow continues to see Montgomery Place virus-free.
And, I sincerely encourage you to reach out to me if I can answer any questions or be of further assistance. Call my mobile phone number, 773-617-1317, at any time.
Finding new ways to enjoy being together, gives us strength.
