Montgomery Place expresses condolences to employee; continuing onward with daily life during this time of COVID-19
Thank you all for understanding my need for a day off on Wednesday. I spent part of the day at my lake house sitting in the sun, listening to the birds, and just basking in a few minutes of quiet time. I also enjoyed the drive time to see the wide-open spaces of rural Illinois, hoping for signs of Spring, yet to come. The day rejuvenated me. I’m back with renewed energy.
Yesterday was not so blessed for one of our staff because she lost a family member to COVID-19. It is a grim reminder that this virus is nasty and will touch many lives. Please extend your prayers of healing to this person and to the many others who are losing loved ones so suddenly to this virus. As we know, the grieving process is hampered because a family cannot gather to mourn together at this time.
On an encouraging note, today we were informed that the test of one resident, who demonstrated symptoms, is NEGATIVE. So, Montgomery Place greets another day COVID-19-free. Today was filled with sunshine and a sense of peace.
We’re finding a pattern for our daily routines. Still, our high priority is to continue to refine our strategies for the potential of positive cases. As I have said many times, it is not a matter of “if” but a matter of “when.” So our management team continues to prepare so we can handle whatever is put before us.
Today, as in every day, exercise classes were offered on our in-house channel as well as afternoon and evening movies. Residents could watch live streaming from London’s National Theatre production of One Man, Two Guvnors and American Factory on Netflix. Many people took walks in the Terrace gardens, all exercising their social distancing as well as their bodies.
Hope your day was blessed!
