IDPH praises Montgomery Place for excellence during this time of COVID-19
Dear Friends and Family,
There is advantage to the testing for COVID-19 we are conducting each week. It helps us identify asymptomatic individuals. Last week, one person here who tested positive had no symptoms at all! So our commitment to testing is helping us flatten the curve.
As I’ve shared in the past, we complete contact tracing to discover who might have been exposed. These individuals receive personal communications from us as well as general notices. We watch and monitor all residents for symptoms and provide free testing on a weekly basis. Staff practice protocols for infection control including gloves, masks, sanitization and social distancing, when feasible, while giving care.
Montgomery Place will continue these practices.
Today, we had a team of reviewers from the Illinois Department of Public Health on our campus to monitor and review our protocols for infection control and testing for staff and residents. They were impressed with our procedures and sanitation practices.
In fact, they suggested we should talk more about what we are doing to abate the spread of the virus with our professional colleagues because they rank our procedures among those with the highest quality. With today’s review, our third to monitor our practices, IDPH again bestowed many compliments on all facets of our procedures.
But the reality of this virus is such that even with the best procedures, the virus does not stop. We must remain vigilant and proactive—no matter how daunting that challenge may feel. I hope you, too, stay vigilant and continue to practice safe infection protocols.
