Dear Residents and Families,

The doors continue to open wider at Montgomery Place. Recent adjustments in recommendations by the CDC for COVID infection control are allowing us to make some long-welcome changes. The biggest changes surround visiting. There will continue to be differences for those living in Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing as compared to those in Independent Living. So bear with me as I attempt to outline the new visiting protocols that go into effect March 27, 2021.

For all visitors:

  • Masks are still required at all times. Please wear surgical masks instead of cloth masks.
  • Rapid Testing will continue until May 1st, assuming no new cases of COVID among staff or residents.
  • Social Distancing is now 3 feet
  • Monday visits will be allowed
  • No time limits on visits

For Visitors to Independent Senior Living:

  • Reservations are no longer required. Come and go as often as you like, knowing that a Rapid Test is required once per day until May 1st.
  • Please allow time to check-in at the electronic check-in station.
  • Bring your proof of vaccination and show it at the front desk.
  • Vaccinated visitors will be allowed to dine with residents.
    • PLEASE do not ask for exceptions if you are not fully vaccinated (that is 14 days after your second inoculation)
  • Over-night guests are allowed

For Visitors to Assisted Living and/or Skilled Nursing

  • Reservations ARE STILL REQUIRED.
  • Visits can be for extended periods of time
  • Vaccinated visitors will be allowed to dine with vaccinated patients and residents.
    • PLEASE do not ask for exceptions if you are not fully vaccinated (that is 14 days after your second inoculation)
  • Visits are allowed to patients who are vaccinated, even within the first 14 days of their stay
  • Please understand if special rules apply to an individual based on their medical needs

Caregivers from other agencies will be allowed to begin offering services. Before they start, we will require proof of insurance from the actual caregiver, updated proof of insurance of the agency/person for general liability and workers compensation. Caregivers MUST comply with Montgomery Place policies on testing of staff for COVID and all infection control protocols including the wearing of masks at all times, even inside of apartments. Separate communications will be issued to anyone wanting to use outside agency/persons. Please contact me if you intend to use an external agency/person.

Please be aware that all of these new rules will change instantly if a resident, staff, or caregiver becomes COVID positive and has created a risk of exposure.
